THE RENE DUBOS FORUM SERIES Since 1977, the Center has sponsored 21 forums (see below) involving over 2000 decision-makers: scientists, scholars, leaders from business, industry, government, the media and special interest groups, representing over 825 organizations (both national and international Participation in Dubos Forums is by invitation only to ensure both the level of expertise and diversity called for. They involve some 100 authorities on various aspects of environmental problems -- from the technological to the humanistic -- the goal is to acquire and integrate information on environmental problems from many points of view. The participants meet in both plenary sessions and concurrent workshops (involving some 20-25 people) that provide nine hours of dialogue focused on specific aspects of the issues. The workshops are closed sessions and they are facilitated by co-chairs to encourage full participation and open discussion. The summary sessions are open to the public.
